We are thrilled to share Dean has been awarded the Accessory Designer of the Year Award at this year’s Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards (CAFA). He was previously nominated for the same award in 2016 and 2017. The sixth annual CAFA Gala took place at the Fairmont Royal York on May 30, 2019.
“There’s so much incredible talent here in Canada and we’re fortunate to have organizations like CAFA who celebrate and support Canadian designers as they grow their businesses internationally. I’m beyond thrilled and thankful for this award,” Dean shared after winning.
Known for redefining everyday luxury, Dean started his demi-fine collection in 2007 and has always held the same central ethos when designing jewelry for women. “My intention is always to create effortless pieces that are elegant and timeless,” he said. “It’s incredibly rewarding and flattering to continue to see my how my designs have resonated with so many women – women who continue to inspire me every day.”
Dean made international headlines earlier this year when the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, wore his Signature Midi Knockout Studs while making several public appearances this winter in London. His creations can also frequently be seen on such high-profile clients and personalities such as Oprah, Jennifer Lopez, Sandra Bullock and Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau – among many others.
CAFA was created to celebrate outstanding achievement and emerging talent in the Canadian fashion industry. Learn more here.
